The Toronto Shooter

A Swiss-Lutheran immigrant named Johann Straus, described by his family as having had severe mental illness all his life, attacked innocent people with a semi-automatic pistol in shops and restaurants in a popular Toronto neighborhood called “Greek-town” on Sunday night.  He was apparently deliberately targeting females in his rampage, killing an eighteen year old woman and a ten year old girl , and injuring 13 others.  That’s how CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC the New York Times and the rest of the mass media would like the story to run. However, unfortunately for them……..

The truth is, his name was Faisal Hussain, and he is not Swiss or Lutheran, but an immigrant from Pakistan, one of those countries in the Middle East populated with peoples who adhere to that religion of peace, love and tolerance called Islam. He also was reportly an admirer of ISIS.  Man, that really doesn’t fit the required narrative, so, let’s concentrate on what does.  The handgun. Continue reading The Toronto Shooter

NEVER Great?

Recently, at a SanDiego anti-Trump rally, protesters carried a sign, which stated, in blood dripping red letters: “America was NEVER great!”.

That’s it.  I’ve had it with the mindless drivel being spouted by the loony left and heralded as being patriotic by American Pravda (aka: the mass media). Never great?  NEVER?

Tell that to the ghosts of Union Civil War soldiers who gave up their limbs or  lives to free the slaves, and reunite their country once again.

Tell that to the millions of people who had the jackboots of totalitarian dictators removed from their throats by the efforts of our military, and the civilians at home who supported the war effort and manufactured the materiel which made victory over the Axis Powers in World War Two possible. Voting “Present”

Yesterday, there was a non-binding resolution passed in the House of Representatives.  The vote was 244 for, 35 against, and 133 voting “Present”. The resolution expressed support for United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The Democrats have come out in favor of abolishing that agency, describing it’s agents variously as Nazis, thugs or worse.  So, who do you think voted for the resolution?  Hint, they all have an “R” after their name.  Who voted against it?  Yep, they have a “D” after theirs.  So, who were so undecided that they couldn’t state an opinion either way, and voted “present”?  Oops, they were “D’s” as well!  “Profiles In Courage” there, for sure.

Democrats, including former President Obama, have become the party of “NO”.  Declaring themselves to be the “Resistance”, against the policies of the Trump administration, they don’t seem able to rationally discuss the many crucial issues we face as a nation.  It always breaks down to a tirade against Republicans and the policies they support. The FBI In Peace And War.

When I was growing up in Colorado in the late 1940s and early 1950s we didn’t have a television.  Television stations came late to that state, and we couldn’t afford one at any rate.  So, we listened to programs on the radio, and there were many to choose from.  One of my favorites was “The FBI In Peace and War”.  I listened avidly to the stories of the “G-Men” combating criminals or foreign agents who wished to do this country harm.  They were heroes, who were always victorious against the forces of evil.

Well, my opinion of that agency has been adversely affected since the first days of the TWA 800 investigation.  The actions of then FBI Agent-in-Charge James Kallstrom were inexplicable and inexcusable.  Now, I see an agency apparently out of control.  Agents plotting the removal  of a sitting President while ignoring egregious violations of government cyber security rules by excusing the actions of their preferred political candidate. Thanks?

At the close of World War Two in 1945, much of the world was covered by rubble.  Large parts of Europe, North Africa, Russia, China, Japan, the Philippines and elsewhere were in ruins.  The United States, which had been the “Arsenal of Democracy” during that conflict, now moved into another vital role, the reconstruction of our allies and enemies alike.  We did so without hesitation, or the planet might have descended into chaos and anarchy.  In the years since, we have continued to expend our resources to keep the world as safe and secure as possible.

When natural disasters strike, we are among the first to offer aid, even to sworn enemies of this country.  And what has our benevolence gained us?  Apparently very little.  We have become the “soft touch”, the “patsy”, the “sucker” to too many nations and organizations.  Nations took our money and then used it against us, siding with our enemies.  Is that any way to say “thanks” for all the blood and treasure this country has given to others?
