A Small Round Hole

I don’t know about you, but the more I watch the various Trump hating commentators on television, the more I begin to have a recurring fantasy dream.  Suddenly, in the middle of their rant, a small round hole appears in their forehead.  Undeterred, they keep on spewing the drivil.

“Orange man BAD!” They say.  Orange man wants to kill: (Old people, various minorities, all Democrats, or just plain anyone who disagrees with him. Take your pick).  Orange man wants to steal another election.  Orange man wants to be a dictator.  They drone on and on.  Then it strikes me.  The reason these intellectual Zombies don’t fall over with the bullet in their brain is simply because they are already brain dead!

Hillary Clinton should be our President!  There’s a scary thought.  Joe Biden should be our President!  That’s an even scarier one.  Bernie Sanders should be our President!  That’s the scariest thought of all.  Well, maybe not.  Vice President Stacey Abrams replacing Joe Biden a few months after the election is even more terrifying!  Continue reading A Small Round Hole

Follow the Money!

As we proceed through the hell that China has brought upon our country in the form of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is instructive to observe not only what is happening, but also what caused it, and allows it to continue.  Unfortunately, like in so many other occasions, we must follow the money trail.

As one of the last actions of his administration, President Clinton pushed through the United States–China Relations Act of 2000. That act gave China a coveted Normal Trade Relations Status, which was formerly referred to as Most Favored Nation Status.  This action effectively opened the flood gates for Chinese manufactured goods to enter our country, but also allowed American companies to move their factories to China, selling their products in this country with no tariff worries.

As was the case when Clinton signed the North America Free Trade Agreement in 1992, American corporations quickly closed down their U.S. based facilities and moved to the country with lower labor costs, mostly Mexico at that time.

Starting in 2000, many more American companies moved factories to China, eager to break into the potential markets of that nation of over a billion people.  The cost to our labor market was enormous.  More important was the effect it had on essential goods.  Within two years, most of the essential pharmaceuticals we rely on to keep our nation healthy were being manufactured in China.  Everything from aspirin to antibiotics was now made offshore, and subject to restrictions.

Now, another issue has arisen.  Hospital affiliation has a greater and greater affect on medical practices.  The ability of a General Practitioner to maintain their practice unaffiliated with a hospital group is rapidly disappearing.  Doctors basically must either sign on or quit, due to not having hospital admission capability for their patients.  That’s where things begin to go south.  I will give you an example. Screw the Pooch?

Screw the pooch:

To make a very serious, grievous, or irreversible mistake; to ruin something or cause something to fail due to such an error.

During the Mercury Space Program in 1962, this term came into being.   When the  capsule of “Liberty Bell 7”, the second orbital flight of the Mercury Program, landed in the Atlantic ocean the hatch prematurely blew.  The astronaut aboard was Virgil “Gus” Grissom.  It was suspected that in removing his helmet after the landing he had accidentally activated the hatch.  Grissom was rescued, but the capsule filled with water and sank.

Whether this was true or not is debated to this day.  Grissom vehemently denied doing so, but the stigma remained, and many believed that he had indeed “Screwed the Pooch”.  We are about to do the same thing in our dealing with the Covid-19 virus.

Allowing the extremely cautious approach advocated by Dr. Anthony Fauci and others to be implemented we are in grave danger of losing the future to save the past.  Using the admittedly false premise about mortality rate developed by a British university, we have embarked on a program of isolation which if followed will destroy the economy of our nation to the point where it will take years, possibly decades to recover. The WHO?

The gentleman (and I use that term lightly) at left is Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.  He the current Director General of the World Health Organization.  He is also, by almost any reasonable standard, a congenital liar, consistently doing the bidding of China, with whom’s support he was elected to his post in 2017.

The WHO is just another example of what a corrupt organization the United Nations has become.  UNICEF is another.  Yet year after year, the American taxpayer is required to support these almost criminal enterprises.  In fact, we pay more proportionately than any other nation on earth to their support, although we are now 25 TRILLION dollars in debt, and thanks to the Chinese coronavirus pandemic are deeper in the hole every day.

It’s kind of like trying to keep up appearances when your fortune is gone and you are bankrupt.  That doesn’t work for individuals, and it doesn’t work for sovereign nations either.  Unfortunately, our federal bureaucracy hasn’t figured that out, and politicians on both sides of the aisle, but mainly Democrats, haven’t either.  You would think, in the midst of the current pandemic, the Democrats would cease this obscene fiscal behavior, but they haven’t.  Following the dictum of former Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, who borrowed it from Winston Churchill, they are not letting this crisis go to waste.
