A 1987 novel by Nancy Price was later made into a successful movie.  Titled “Sleeping With The Enemy”, it describes the efforts of a woman to escape from her abusive husband.  I believe in many ways that story parallels what mainstream Republicans did when they abandoned the party insiders candidate Jeb Bush, and instead chose a total political outsider in Donald Trump.  Helped by crossover blue collar Democratic voters, the Republican base elected Trump to the presidency, much to the dismay of the Republican hierarchy.

That cabal then did everything in their power to prevent Trump from achieving his stated goal to “Make America Great Again”.  Their loyalty was to their corporate donors and special interest groups which maintained them in office, in some cases for decades.  That Republicans rarely controlled the House or Senate, and only occasionally the White House didn’t matter to them.  They still led a grand lifestyle as fellow denizens of what Donald Trump called “The Swamp” in Washington, DC.

The Republicans had a golden opportunity to pass the agenda items which Trump promised during the election campaign while they controlled the entire legislative branch of the government as well as the executive, and had a supposedly sympathetic Supreme Court as well.  They squandered that opportunity, and when the Democrats regained control of the House in the mid-term elections, watched a vindictive House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer trash the next two years of Trumps presidency, with ten House Republicans joining the Democrats in voting to impeach him.

Then, when the shenanigans became evident on election night 2020, the backstabbers in the Republican leadership did virtually nothing to overturn the obviously fraudulent election results, but instead moved back to their default position of “we’ll get them in the mid-terms”.   The Republican base had been hoodwinked by their parties leadership, but they’re not stupid.  They are watching their country be gradually destroyed by open borders and the mass illegal immigration that allows.  Along with that, the flow of violent gang members, coming to facilitate the distribution of drugs like cocaine and Fentanyl has skyrocketed. 

The Biden-Harris Regime is full speed ahead in it’s attempt to “Pack” the Supreme Court with another four Justices, and add Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia as new states. These actions, if successful, will change the political landscape of this nation forever, making it in all intents and purposes a single party state ruled by far left politicians.  Those leftist will do what they always do.  They will quash any opposition by weaponizing  federal law enforcement and other federal agencies, and control the population with an iron fist.  America as we have known it in the past will cease to exist.

Unless, that is, the Republican base, bringing as many disaffected blue collar Democrats and Independents with them as possible, tosses out the Republican turncoat leadership and those who support them, either during the next election cycle or by the recall process. The current Democrats, as they always have, are perfectly willing to wield power when they get it.  Whether it is fairly gained, or stolen, they don’t care.  They view Republican Conservatives as the enemy, and we must all understand and accept that fact.  You can’t work “with” them.  They will only accept total submission to their goals.

It is past time for Republicans to realize that simple fact, end the abuse, and stop
