I live in an over 50 community.  So, most of us should have lived long enough to make rational decisions about life experience and the consequences of those decisions.  Sadly, there are many who live in a world of fantasy, and wish the rest of us to join them there.  An example of that mindset is a bumper sticker I see quite frequently, generally on vehicles driven by women.  It uses symbols, like the Crescent and Star of Islam, the universal peace symbol from the 60’s, the Star of David, and a Celtic Cross, to spell out the word “Coexist”.  Lovely.  Touchy feely.  An admirable goal in life, but totally out of touch with reality.

People can “co-exist” only when both sides agree to do so.  The tragic event which occurred in Manchester, England last night once again underlines the fact that in the present day, it is virtually impossible for any other society or religion to “co-exist” with Islam as it is presently constituted.  To believe otherwise is naive and dangerous, both to yourself and those around you.

We have already experienced a terrorist bombing in this country.  The deaths and horrific injuries inflicted by the Boston Marathon bombers in 2013 should have been a wake up call to America.  However, due to the beliefs and policies of then President Barack Obama, the link between Islam and the killers was downplayed.  We were instead asked to try to understand what we might have done to the family of the bombers to cause them to do such a terrible thing.  In Obama’s fantasy world, it was OUR fault, not theirs.  If we don’t wake up and understand that it is impossible for western forms of freedom and democracy to “co-exist” with Islam and Sharia Law, we are on the road to more acts of unbelievable violence in this country.

We don’t need to change our way of life to accommodate Muslims.  They need to moderate their views and beliefs in order to be able “co-exist” in a modern, civilized world.  Persons who would believe otherwise will have enabled the terrorists to commit their murderous acts against us all.  Those of us who have seen the danger, and exposed the threat, will NEVER let you forget that fact.
