In 1973, the Board of Trustees of the American Psychiatric Association decided to remove homosexuality from its official list of mental diseases.  They referred to the practice as merely being an “Alternate Lifestyle”.  This action precipitated a large number of homosexuals “coming out of the closet” and declaring themselves to be “Gay” in the case of males or “Lesbians” in the case of females.

Because of a demonstrated tendency for promiscuity in certain sectors of the “Gay” community, when the Human Immune Deficiency Virus or “AIDS” came on the scene in the early 1980s, it rapidly spread through a large portion of that group.  Because it is transmitted in blood as well as sexual fluids, the disease quickly jumped into the “straight” community either by infected blood used for transfusions, or shared needles used by intravenous drug users, and finally by heterosexual relations with an infected individual. 

In an effort to remove the stigmas attached  their homosexual behavior, gays and lesbians, now a “protected status” group, began to look for others who could add to their projection of lobbying power over segments of government.  Enter the “Trans” society.

Back through the pages of history, there are example of individuals of both sexes who got some form of gratification by dressing in the clothes of the opposite sex.  This was easier for women than men, since mannish “Pant Suits” had been in style at least since the 1930s. Male “transvestites” were another matter altogether.  Many of them were happily married heterosexuals who just wanted to be accepted as females when wearing feminine attire.  This was referred to as “passing” in that community.

However, there was another, more deeply disturbed group out there, the “transsexuals”. These are people who want to actually become members of the opposite sex through hormone therapy and surgical procedures.  While it is possible to ”feminize” facial features, implant artificial breasts and create a sexually functional vagina for the M to F, it is virtually impossible to create a functional penis for the F to M.  No matter.  This group jumped on the “Gay and Lesbian” bandwagon, and the alphabet soup sounding LGBTQ (which stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer) community made its debut.

The so-called “Woke” movement, mainly aided and abetted by the Democratic Party, has determined that Americans must not only accept that this parade of people who frequently exhibit signs of being seriously mentally ill exist, but we must embrace their condition as somehow being the “New Normal”.  They even want to start the indoctrination of our children in kindergarten!  Should we be surprised that there is beginning to be major pushback by ordinary American citizens, particularly parents?

While we don’t wish to put you back into the “Closet”, we also don’t wish you to drag us or our children in there with you.  We’re tolerant, but not stupid, forgiving but not submissive.  My advice to all the advocates of alternate lifestyles is to practice them if you wish, but don’t proselytize them to our children.  It will soon get really ugly if you attempt to do so.
