Multiple Americas?

“There is not a liberal America and a conservative America – there is the United States of America. There is not a black America and a white America and latino America and asian America – there’s the United States of America.”

Barack Obama

Stirring words, spoken at the 2004 Democratic Convention.  Unfortunately for Americans, Obama neither wrote the speech or believed what he was saying.  After he was elected as our 44th president in 2008, the actions taken by him and his administration proved that he believed exactly the opposite.

For many years, the Democratic Party has promoted policies which have come to be known as “Identity Politics”.   From the time after the Civil War when members of the Democratic Party formed the Klu Klux Klan to be their enforcement arm against Republicans and various minority groups, particularly the free slaves, they have been the party of division, not inclusion.

In recent years, assisted by mainstream media, academia and what has become known as “social media”, which was created by so-called “Big Tech”, the Democrats have deluded many people into believing that they are a “Big Tent” party allowing many opinions to be expressed by it’s members.  The supporters of Bernie Sanders quickly found out that concept only applied if you opinions coincided with those of the party elders and policy makers.

After castigating and denigrating the supporters of Donald Trump for the past five years, the Democrats nominated Joe Biden to be their standard bearer for the 2020 presidential election.  He was touted as a moderate deal maker, who could work with those across the aisle and bring us back from the OUTRAGEOUS policies of the Trump Administration.  That subterfuge could only be maintained for so long.  It was destroyed yesterday in Biden’s Inaugural Address.  Cloaked in platitudes about the necessity for “national unity”, Biden finally came to the point.  He stated that there would be a war on what he referred to as “domestic terrorists”, which were mainly composed of  “white supremacists” and systemic racists.  All of those of course had to be Caucasian, as in the opinion of the Democratic Party, no other racial group can ever be racist in its attitudes and actions.

So, this “war” is to be fought against white males, who are of course the most racist of all. We are the ones who must be sought out, identified and punished for our racist beliefs. Initially, it will only be conservative white males, but as this country moves inexorably towards becoming dominated by “people of color”, and Caucasians become a minority, it will become necessary to include all whites, especially males, in the offending class.

It will be a kind of extension of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s comment about socialism:  “Sooner or later, you run out of other people’s money”.   Indeed, sooner or later the anti-racist racists will run out of conservative whites, and they will have to begin consuming their own.  All this will inevitably happen.

Unless that is , we begin fighting back using any means at our disposal.  Some of those will of course consist of utilizing the assistance of our friends of all races, creeds and colors who are aware that we are not “systemically racist” at all.  Those people are aware of the enormous strides towards a “colorblind” society that had taken place over the last five decades, until our first minority president put a stop to all this, due to his own neuroses, and once again began dividing us.

Donald Trump saw what had happened during the Obama years and what could continue under an administration under Hillary Clinton.  His message of “Make America Great Again” was not aimed at any specific group of Americans.  It was a call to all of us who are fortunate enough to have been born here, or arrived from elsewhere as legal immigrants to this nation.  That goal has been temporarily halted by a tainted election process, but it hasn’t been stopped altogether.  As long as we have individuals of all races who love this country and the freedoms granted us by our unique Constitution, we will not fail in the end.

The fight to get back on the right track will unfortunately be long and hard.  It will take many forms, and many of us will not live long enough to see it won.  However, it MUST be won, and we must start today.

God Bless America!
