Militias

Common Sense, Ethical Behavior

I want you to read the definition of the word “Militia” from the dictionary file on my computer.  Pay special attention to the highlighted words in the second sentence.

Militia 

noun

  • a military force that is raised from the civil population to supplement a regular army in an emergency
  • a military force that engages in rebel or terrorist activities in opposition to a regular army.
  •  All able-bodied civilians eligible by law for military service.

Now consider the text of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

For a very long time it was taken for granted in most of our country that citizens had the right to own and use various types of firearms.  Many young boys received their “Red Rider BB Gun” as a Christmas present at age 10 or even younger.  In the rural areas of the country that was soon supplemented by a .22 rifle, followed by heavier calibers and shotguns for hunting.  Only residents of densely populated cities didn’t grow up with these traditions.

As these large cities were largely dominated by politicians from the Democratic Party starting at the turn of the last century, they began to pass laws like New York’s Sullivan Act, passed in 1911, which prohibited ownership of a weapon small enough to be concealed, without a license.  Possession of such a weapon was a misdemeanor, carrying one in public was  a felony.

Why were such laws necessary?  The answer is simple.  To increase the power of the government over the people, and to deny them the ability to protect themselves.  What grew out of that was a police force in New York City that is larger than the armed forces of many sizable countries.  It currently stands at over 36,000 sworn officers, and that doesn’t include thousands of Metropolitan Transit Police, and 19,000 “civilian” (meaning non-armed) employees.

In many other large cities around our nation, mostly controlled for decades by Democrats, similar gun control laws exist.  However, those cities have become some of the most dangerous places in our country, because only law abiding citizens obey these laws, and so become unarmed victims of the criminal elements, who don’t.  Gangs are the de facto rulers of many big city neighborhoods.  They are comprised of Blacks, Latinos, Asians and a few other ethnic groups.  The few whites involved in gang activities are the Hells Angles type gangs, the Mafia and now the Russian Mafia.  As of now, they have not been involved with the riots and looting.  So, as the recent riots have once again demonstrated, Caucasians in our country have been relegated to a victim class because of the supposed “systemic racism” which is endemic to white society.  We are the only ones who can commit so-called “hate crimes”.  Only a real racist could possibly believe such drivel.

Politicians on both sides of the aisle and many corporations have bowed to the demands of Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA.  Literally BILLIONS of dollars have been donated to BLM. This money will not go to correcting the supposed injustices being claimed, but instead will go into the political coffers of Democratic candidates.  This is not going to go unnoticed by conservatives who believe in our country and want ALL of it’s history to be studied and protected.  We are not perfect, but we must show the good AND the bad to understand where we have failed as well as where we have triumphed.

If the left succeeds in stealing the coming elections through intimidation and allowing ineligible persons to have their votes counted, there will be pushback.  It will not be accepted by those on the right, or indeed those who have no political affiliation.  True militias, in the very best traditions of that concept, and which the Democrats view as  rebels or terrorists, will rise up to protect their families, their neighbors and their neighborhoods from rioting, looting and desecration.  It can only be hoped that law enforcement, who is being thrown under the bus by the Democrat leftists, will join them in their attempt to reclaim this country from the left and the lawless anarchists they support.
