The Bear

The goal of virtually all the Democratic candidates for President in the 2020 elections is POWER.  One way they plan to achieve that goal is to bring in more and more migrants from third world countries, who will become dependent on government handouts and so, if the Dems have their way, become reliable voters for that party.  However, as the debate over how to deal with the “migrants, aka immigrants, aka illegal immigrants, aka undocumented immigrants” goes on and on, the real Bear in the Back Room is being ignored by both sides of the aisle.

Who, or what is that critter?  Simple, it is our totally archaic Birthright Citizenship law.  While bringing a child along when you cross our border illegally may get you into the country, and keep you here temporarily, the act of giving birth to a child here, even if it is conceived elsewhere, is a virtual guarantee that you will be allowed to stay, and eventually bring other family members here through “chain migration”.  It is ironic that the amendments to our Constitution which were intended to grant citizenship to the children and grandchildren of Africans who had been brought to this country involuntarily as slaves, is now cheapening the value of that citizenship by granting it to everyone born in our nation, even though both parents are non-citizens who knowingly violated our laws to come here. Virtually all other First World countries, as well as others farther down on the economic scale, have long since done away with birthright citizenship.

It is vital that legislation be introduced to eliminate the practice here as well.  Until that is accomplished, it will remain the magnet which lures so many people to come here in violation of our laws and sovereignty as a nation.  However, no politician in Washington appears to have the will to do so for fear of being labeled a xenophobe. This is insanity of the first magnitude. Time to put the bear back in it’s cave.
