A Fox in the Henhouse?

A review of Robert Mueller’s history should indicate that he is an honorable man.  However, his handling of the Special Council Commission currently investigating the claims of Russian “Collusion” during the 2016 Presidential campaign must give pause.

Mueller was FBI director during much of the Obama administration, and had to be aware of the questionable transactions between the Russians and the Clintons during the Uranium One dealings, where 20% of America’s uranium production was allowed to be acquired by the Russians.  Uranium is of course the base material for most nuclear energy production, including nuclear weapons.  Apparently, there was an ongoing FBI investigation into that matter, with no published results.  Mueller passed the baton of office to his protege, James Comey.  Now, “Director” Comey failed to recommend an indictment of Hillary Clinton after he laid out a very strong case to do so during his well known press conference in July of last year.

Then, after a fire storm of accusations against the Trump campaign when Hillary snatched defeat out of the hands of almost certain victory, Mueller was named as Special Council to investigate the matter.  His first action was to appoint a series of very left leaning lawyers to his team.  Virtually all of these individuals were contributors to the Democratic Party and Hillary’s Campaign Fund. None to the Republicans.

Mueller then widened the scope of the investigation to include financial transactions conducted by members of the Trump campaign, especially Paul Manafort, who was Trump’s campaign manager for a few months in 2016.  These transactions occurred years before any association with Donald Trump, some apparently as early as 2006 or even earlier.   Meanwhile, Mueller seems to be turning a blind eye to the actions of Bill and Hillary Clinton, who had over one hundred forty million dollars of Russian interest contributions to the Clinton Foundation.  This was before she was either Secretary of State under Obama or a 2016 Presidential candidate, but there is little doubt they were intended to influence her future actions, since she was the presumptive 2016 Democratic Presidential nominee.

The question is, has the formerly lily white reputation of Mr. Mueller been sullied and degraded by his years of living and working in the “swamp” of inside the beltway politics? President Trump may have naively placed a very nasty fox in charge of the investigatory henhouse.
